that's what life is right now, just good. but that is only because our God is so good! really, even when i am wavering and unfaithful, God remains so good to me. baffling isn't it? but so true!
after almost 2 weeks, school is still going so well!! thank you so much for you prayers and encouragement! i KNOW that i could not do this without your prayers!
the kids are great...the staff is great...seriously everything is great. don't get me wrong, it's hard work and i'm SO tired by the end of the day. even now i should be planning a lesson on ancient egypt or making a test about mesopotamia or planning a Bible class lecture or sleeping. :) but it's good. i was just telling claire that God keeps giving me great ideas for lessons (usually right in the middle of class!)...He is so faithful to provide when He leads!!
tomorrow in home ec we're "tasting" southern buttermilk biscuits--thanks to the tom downs perfected biscuit recipe! we're learning about food and culture, and some of these poor kids had never even SEEN a southern biscuit. the only 'biscuit' they know is british (which is just a cracker or cookie). so we had to fix that right away! each kid has a culture that they're doing a project on and they start presenting them tomorrow. maggie did france and she made some crepes to take to school tomorrow and they are delicious! (of course we had to try one tonight!) so tomorrow will be a feast.
one thing i was working on before i started teaching was planning for a short term team that is coming next week. we had planned for margaret and i to go with the team to assist and serve them and handle their money and such. and since it's been in the works for a long time, i still get to go! they arrive sunday night and we leave monday morning for 2 weeks of ministry all over ghana. our first city is kumasi and i'm so excited to re-connect with my dear friends there! especially the sweet Bible club kids! and while the team is building a house, i'll be visiting with old friends and i can't wait! our last stop is at the beach and margaret and i get to spend an extra night after the team leaves to recoup. :) and we have lots of ministry and van time in between. it will be great! i am really looking forward to these 2 weeks. God always does big things on mission trips, and even though i'm not leaving this country, it is still a mission trip for me, so i'm expecting big things! you can pray for that with me! and of course i'm excited about getting to be with margaret for 2 weeks! since i've started teaching, we just don't get to hang out enough.
here are some other things you can pray for:
1. for the team...adjustment to ghana, protection, and ministry AND that margaret and i will have wisdom and understanding while with this team, and that we'll see clearly how best to serve them
2. for my students during those 2 weeks--they'll have a sub the whole time, and thankfully God has given me some good activities and resources to keep them busy and learning. but the poor things have had to adjust to so many changes in the school, and throwing another teacher at them for 2 weeks is just one more. pray that they can stay focused and feel settled at their new school
3. for the school--we have an interim director arriving in Ghana on Friday night. pray for him and the school! there are so many decisions to be made. you can also pray for the school books and supplies. they were scheduled to arrive in the port today, but it is quite the hassle to get containers through customs at the port. pray that everything goes smoothly and that we get all of our things quickly.
you're prayers are priceless!
i pray that you will experience more of God's love and provision for you today! He is such a good God, Father, and Friend! i pray that He will bless you today and blow your mind!

You got my mouth watering!
Is the Downs' biscuit recipe one that can be shared? I'm looking for things to make with, like, real flour...
I'll be praying!
Tatum-
