thanks for all your encouraging comments on that last post...you readers are great! to follow up on that post, guess what i read today? 2 Cor 5:1-9. go read it. its crazy how when God teaches you something, you seem to 'stumble' upon the theme everywhere you go.

ok, the rest of this post isn't very serious. just a fun update.

it's been a crazy few days. very "american". and kinda weird. let me show you.

first of all, thursday was the opening day of a new store called "game". its a south african store and its located in our new mall (its the first store to open there). its pretty much just like walmart. it was so bizarre! standing in such a typical western store in ghana. literally, my jaw was on the ground most of the time. i don't know how many times i said "this is crazy!" it was seriously overwhelming to see the aisles full of stuff. and the 13 check out lanes...like real check out lanes...the kind they have at kroger and walmart. its amazing how much stuff they had there. i'm still overwhelmed when i think of it. (and am i kidding? i really took pictures of the store? that should show you how freaked out i was.) but i've already thought "i need some blank cds...i'll just go to game." they've sucked me in already.

then on friday, after spending the day at the beach (celebrating african unity day) we got to see miss anna mozley and her friends all gussied up for prom! ain't she pretty?


my twighlight zone trip to america ended on saturday night. we went to our friend stacey's house to watch the american idol finale. it was so fun to hang out with friends, watch silly american tv, and eat good food (homemade banana crepes, peanut butter m&m's, twizlers, sour straws, and popcorn!...and all that candy was from my awesome friends at ywam honolulu!!)


all this american-ness made me realize that america is overwhelming! it will take some getting used to, that's for sure.

i'm crashing back into ghana tomorrow...taking public transport for 5 hours up to kumasi.
