i just want y'all to know that i love my life here. it's 8:15am, we're just starting breakfast, and as usual, there are about 13 people in the house. i love it. and there are a million things going on today...claire is helping a new missionary family move into their house, michael is setting up a cell phone and bank account for another guy that just arrived, anna is going shopping in the market with her friend that is about to leave for boarding school, and maggie and luke have friends over here that spent the night. and me? i'm answering emails and hanging out with maggie, luke and their friends all day. well at least that is the plan...but days rarely go as planned.
and have i mentioned my awesome new friend Margaret?! she's a young Mission Society missionary that just arrived a couple weeks before i did...and she is fabulous!! i am so SO grateful to have such a fun friend here! it means the world just to have someone to talk with about important life stuff and even dumb American things (like side ponytails and scrunch socks in the 80's.) and it's incredible that we're going through the whole move/culture change at the same time. God is SO GOOD!! he has provided for both of us by placing us here at the same time. and i LOVE it!
as i sit here typing, i'm listening to all the voices the house, and i'm am so grateful that God has put me here. i love this family, i love these people, i love Ghana! (can you tell i'm still in the honeymoon phase?) :)
i do miss people at home a ton! but i love technology! i get to talk to my mom at least once or twice a week. and even last night, i got to talk to 5 of my bestest (i'm so grammatically correct) friends in marietta when they were all together for one of their bridal showers. (you can go to mary margaret's blog using the link on the right to see a picture of them at the shower.) it's crazy how easy and cheap it is to stay in touch.
well i better go join the breakfast table so that i can get to work on Michael's emails. thanks for reading my wandering thoughts. :)
